During the LVL production process, the wood loss of each main process is roughly as follows:
1. Sawing loss (truncation, sawdust): generally 2%-3%
2. Rotary cutting loss (wood core, broken veneer): The proportion of wood core and broken veneer is related to the material and log diameter. LVL uses low-grade timber and small-diameter timber, but because veneer lengthening and spindleless veneer peeler are used, so the loss can be reduced to 15%
3.Drying shrinkage loss: It is related to factors such as the tree species of the veneer, the final moisture content of the veneer, the thickness of the veneer, and the drying thickness. Because the LVL veneer is usually dried with a hot plate dryer, and the thickness of the veneer is relatively large, the drying shrinkage The loss is small, about 2%-4%
4.Hot press loss
5.Trim loss
6.Sanding loss
